I Tried
I tried my best, but it was all in vain, I just couldn't stop them from closing up the suitcase and getting in the car. The peeps left Zephyr and I ALONE for a whole 39 1/2 hours. Somebody (I won't say who) showed them how they felt about it by peeing on the bathmat. I'm not saying I endorse this type of behaviour, but I do agree that SOMETHING needed to be done to let those fleshies know how much we don't like it when they leave. Sure sure, they leave us with lots of food and water and clean litter and all the other so-called necessities of life, but what of body heat in bed? Head scritches when we need them? Blanket covered legs? The fireplace?
When they came back I really wanted to snub them to teach them a lesson, but I couldn't resist the girl's lap. Next time I won't be so weak.

sometimes great need replaces need for great revenge
You poor kitties.
I used to travel home from leave and spend a fortnight at home just so the Kitties had company while my sister went on holiday.
TOTALLY give the cold shoulder when they return. Nothing is more powerful (and passive-agressive) than briskly hoisting the tail, lifting your chin, and turning away from them.
Resist all urges to allow them to love on you...no...matter...what! They must be taught a lesson!
Next time, I'll definitely try to hold out longer.
At least they've only ever left us alone for one night. Any longer than that and Uncle Glen or the Grandma has come to wait on us.
Your Empressness,
I always get in the sootcase too but mom just laffs and piles things on me! Then when I have to leave for a minute for a drink or something, she closes it up.
It's ok if you don't ignore her, it is all about what you want when you want it anyway.
Finny
I say cry pitifully and look very upset like something is seriously wrong with you, and act like you're in pain when they try touching you. It will freak them out and teach them a lesson.
(Just don't do it too long or to excess. you will go to the v-e-t)
I leave some poop in the suitcase as a little reminder of how irritated I am.
You're one tough customer!
i know that pee on the bathroom rug trick. i fell for that once.
