The Humiliated Feline

Once my peeps were watching an MSNBC documentary about a frightening trio of singing sisters called "Triple Image" (long forgotten in North America, but perhaps still big in Japan). These diminutive demons had one particularly catchy song that became lodged in our brains. As the documentary ended, to my horror, the Can Opener picked me up under my shoulders and stood me on my hind feet, making me dance as he sang that insipid song at the top of his lungs.

I'll never forget the humiliation. When he put me down, I ran upstairs in shame.

He's never done it since, though he's occasionally tempted.

But I don't think he wants to see my eyes tear up like that again.

I was reminded of that horrible moment when I watched
this and found yet another song that will take way too long to leave my head.

I'm not really fond of music.

oh, Musette, some of these humans just don't understand how sensitive we felines are. my Mom is always careful to not embarrass me. as long as nobody else saw it, it's okay, don't feel bad. try to look at it as a moment of sillniess on the can openers part. you are a beautiful kitty and have no reason to feel any shame.

Your words are comforting. I know I'm actually pretty fortunate. Some poor kitties spend their lives being disrespected - the thought makes me furious! But most of the time I'm treated royally. And I think he learned his lesson.

Oh not the Kitty Cat Song!!!! Mom goes off on tangents and sings that to us all the time. She'll be at it again now that she's heard it again. We just squint our eyes at her and try to make her feel pathetic.

My Can Opener has only ever heard that song once a long time ago, yet he still sings it from time to time. It's an insidious tune.

By the way, the Door Opener says that the Can Opener spends way too much time thinking about Triple Image. He claims that he appreciated the documentary because it exposed the sad desperation of nobodies wanting to be somebodies, and the evil inner workings of a music industry that cares about nothing other than the bottom line. Plus that one song was really catchy.

Question: Does it seem conceited of me to want to keep posting comments because I like looking at the portrait of me that shows beside each comment I make?

Answer: No it does not.

OMG, if MY mom plays that "I'm a kitty cat song one more time, I am gonna smother her in her sleep!"

You're welcome Musette ;)

Momma makes me dance to the Kitty Cat Dance song...she sings, "I say sexy things to myself while I'm daaaaaannncin!" It's really not amusing after the third time.
